Children's Privacy Notice

This notice is for parents and guardians. It explains what GetInto.College LLC ("we," "us") collects from students under 18 who use GetInto.College ("the Service"), how we use it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It adds to our Privacy Policy, which applies in full.

1. Children under 13

We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. The beta sign-up asks for a birth month and year before any personal field. A visitor under 13 is handed to a parent or guardian, and nothing about the child is stored except an unlinked count that the page was seen, with no name, email, device or session attached. A parent who wants a younger child to use the Service sets up and manages the profile under their own account, and we record the parent's consent before collecting anything about the child.

2. Students aged 13 to 17

A student aged 13 to 17 takes part as a member of a household that a parent or guardian can see and manage. From the student we collect:

• first name, last name, and graduation year;
• an email address, used to sign in with a one-time code and to send beta messages;
• a parent or guardian's email address, so the parent receives a household invite and every beta lifecycle email;
• a mobile number only if the student chooses to give one; we never send texts to minors;
• what the student enters while using the Service: saved colleges, plans, essays, documents, feedback reports and the page, browser and screen size attached to a report, plus a screenshot or recording only when the student attaches one.

3. How we use it

• to run the student's account and the household;
• to confirm age and the parent or guardian relationship;
• to send sign-in codes, beta messages and replies to feedback;
• to find and fix what is broken, confusing or missing in the beta.

We do not sell a minor's personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to build profiles for marketing. Minors' accounts default to the most privacy-protective settings.

4. Cookies and other identifiers

Pages about a minor use only the identifiers needed for internal operations: a sign-in session cookie, a security cookie for the beta gate, and a first-party counter for the beta funnel. These support authentication, security and the integrity of the Service, and they are never used to contact a child or to build a profile. Analytics and session replay are off by default on every page, never run on pages about a minor, and we honor a browser's Global Privacy Control signal.

5. Who else sees it

Only service providers that work for us under contract: Google for sign-in, Resend to deliver email from customercare@getinto.college, and our own hosting. None of them may use a child's information for their own purposes. We disclose personal information otherwise only when the law requires it.

6. How long we keep it (retention schedule)

• A beta sign-up that is never verified: deleted after 30 days.
• A waitlist request from a teen: deleted after 90 days. A parent's or adult's waitlist request: kept until the Service opens to everyone plus 90 days, and never longer than 12 months.
• Beta funnel events (page views, scans, sign-up steps): deleted after 90 days; only daily counts without identifiers remain.
• Feedback reports: attached screenshots and recordings deleted after 90 days; the written report after 1 year.
• Account and household data: kept while the account exists and deleted when the account is erased.
• Encrypted database backups: expire within 36 days.

7. What a parent or guardian can do

• Review what we hold about the student, from the household settings or by writing to us.
• Correct or delete it, and end the student's participation at any time.
• Refuse any further collection or use; we will then delete the student's account.

Write to customercare@getinto.college from the parent or guardian email on the household. We confirm who you are before acting and answer within 30 days. There is no charge.
